BCS Mobile Computer Transfer Station (MCTS)

What it Does ?

The Mobile Computer Transfer Station (MCTS) frees you from having to bring your wands to a central office in order to download data from these wands.

With the MCTS, you can now download wand data on-site!

The MCTS is similar to a regular CTS with the added feature of being able to download checkpoint data from multiple wands without having to be connected to a computer. Typically, the guard supervisor carries around the MCTS, and at each site, downloads checkpoint data from each wand into the MCTS. After all checkpoint data has been downloaded, the supervisor returns to the office, connects the MCTS to the computer, and running BCS software such as Security Report System (SRS), transfers the downloaded data to SRS.

Using the MCTS In the Field
The MCTS comes with 2 types of power adapters: the first type plugs into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter, and the second type plugs into a wall socket or power bar. The MCTS must be connected to either type of power adapter when downloading data from a wand.

At Head Office
Like a regular CTS, the MCTS must be connected to your computer’s serial or USB port when transferring data to SRS. The power adapter that is plugged into a wall socket or power bar must be plugged into the MCTS as well. Unlike a regular CTS, the MCTS cannot be used to program schedules from a wand when it is connected to your computer.

LED Indicators
The red LED flashes if the MCTS contains data. If there is no data in the MCTS, the red LED is steady (does not flash). The green LED flashes when data is being transferred into the MCTS.

Capacity
The MCTS has a memory capacity of approximately 37,000 checkpoints. When the MCTS is filled to capacity, it emits a long buzzing sound when an attempt is made to download data from a wand.
